April 2013: 48 Hours

Bridging the Gap is great. If it were not for this program, I probably would’ve gone back to my old ways. Some statistics show that unless a person released from a clinic or jail goes to an AA meeting within 48 hours of his or her release, they will return to drinking.

I was very fortunate. I was a federal inmate at a Canadian prison in the Kingston, Ontario area. I started AA in jail. My offense was fueled by by alcohol. Alcohol had taken over my life. I needed AA. I have been sober for seven years now. I have a home group in the Niagara Falls area and a great sponsor. My life has turned around, and with the help of AA, things just keep getting better.
