Uh, hello?” I said into the receiver of my 100 pound telephone. I didn’t recognize the number on the Caller ID.

“Hi Beverly! It’s Joan E., from the Saturday morning women’s meeting, just calling to say hello and visit a little bit.”

Visit? On the phone? These AA women are a little bit different, I thought to myself.
