Short Snorts

The speaker waxed eloquent. Carried away by his own oratory, he closed his eyes and talked for fifty-eight minutes. Concluding his story, he opened his eyes and gazed around the room. It was empty save for one forlorn figure in the front row.

"Where is everybody?" the speaker demanded.
