November 2011: We Keep the Lights On

There's nothing like the warmth and love of a small-town home group

"For the past 10 or 15 years, I have attended the Friday night meeting in our small rural town."

I have lived in many different places and attended many kinds of AA meetings. It’s amazing to me what a variety of people are to be found there, all with the common problem of alcoholism.

Gratitude is my favorite meeting topic, although it may irritate some folks. It is the best of emotions, overriding all small and petty aggravations that may be stirred up among members in various stages of recovery.
