Dear Lyb,

"MANY of us wonder sometimes how we will pan out under varying circumstances. When I was a soldier, for example, I wondered how things would be when I came under enemy fire. Would I feel brave or frightened, or what. As it turned out, I was scared stiff and very angry at the same time, a feeling I never had imagined possible. As an AA, with very close ties in AA, I occasionally wondered how it would be if circumstances cut me off from the AA community I had been growing up in--mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
