AA Around the World

Denmark --The history of AA in this country dates back to the postwar period, but in actual fact the first really clear indication of an AA group began in a bar twenty-nine years ago when a drunk American described AA as a way to get out of the infernal torment of alcohol addiction to a Dane who desperately desired to stop drinking. So with assistance from the States, the very first Danish AA group saw the light of day within a year. As to whether the aforementioned American ever became sober we do not know, but the Dane did sober up and is still sober.
