The Kalksburg Adventure

I was stationed with the U.S. Army in Vienna, Austria from 1953 to 1955; I met and married my wife there; I got sober in San Francisco in 1964. Over the years we've returned to Austria a number of times to visit my wife's family and mutual old friends. I visited Austria the first time sober in 1969. I had with me a newspaper article about a government-operated treatment center for alcoholism in Kalksburg, a suburb of Vienna.
