Hanging with the Girls

She learned how to make and keep friends in AA

I was never one for female relationships. I had had a couple of friends here and there through the years, but I was much more comfortable with the men. I found them easier to get along with whether they were romantic relationships or not. Woman seemed to be back stabbers and catty gossips. I had no use for them.

I was almost paralyzed by the idea of trying to socialize without my best friend alcohol and now, new to AA, I was being told to go to talk with these women. What would we talk about? I never felt very "girly girly" and I was sure they wouldn't like me.
