Your Move - Responses from Readers on the Topic of "Online AA" from the May 1996 Grapevine

Stay Tuned

Thank you so much for your comprehensive article on a rapidly expanding area of communication. I view myself as a "traditionalist" as I relate to the Big Book, the Twelve Steps and Traditions, face-to-face meetings, service work, sponsorship, and "living the Steps," and I was a bit skeptical of this newfangled way of talking to another drunk. But I must admit that online AA seems to be simply another tool in the kit, which if used properly can keep the message alive and give the alcoholic another weapon to combat the cunning and baffling disease we face. Online AA helps not hinders me in this effort. It doesn't violate any of the Traditions and can help a great many more than it will hurt. I listen to a lot of tapes as well as read the Grapevine and this is one more way for me to stay tuned.
