July 2012: No Longer in a Cell by Myself
I traveled with carnivals for 10 years. I had been working, drinking, and getting high to extreme levels. I had been out of control for so long, that kind of life was normal to me.
In February, 1997, just before sunrise and after a night filled with whiskey, beer and drugs, two lives were changed forever. In a drunken drug-fueled rage, I murdered a man. I was sentenced to die. If you are thinking that I deserve what I got, I can’t agree with you more. Fourteen years ago my sentence was commuted to life.
