Responses from readers to the December 1999 Editor's Note regarding declining circulation and the Grapevine's financial picture for the year 2000.

I don't believe that the declining circulation of the Grapevine has anything to do with the articles that appear in it. I have always considered them to be a balanced mix of the Traditions, the Steps, and the controversial subjects. My belief is that the declining circulation can be attributed to the same reason that public libraries are no longer lending books at the same rate that they did twelve years ago. Simply put, younger people do not read as much as older folks. They find their information on the Internet, on television, or in videos.
