The real thing
Readers tell us about their favorite passages in AA literature.
In chapter three of the Big Book, "More About Alcoholism," one passage reads: "To be gravely affected, one does not necessarily have to drink a long time nor take the quantities some of us have. This is particularly true of women. Potential female alcoholics often turn into the real thing and are beyond recall in a few years." As a high-bottom drunk, I highlighted those three sentences on pages 33 and 34.
