I was so worried about how to not have one of those fruity drinks with an umbrella stuck in it.
I went on my first sober vacation to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. I was so worried about how I was going to go to a tropical island and not have one of those fruity drinks with an umbrella stuck in a pineapple.
Then I remembered that my sponsor always said to play the tape all the way through. So that’s exactly what I did. It was not pretty: I was the kind of alcoholic who would have woken up on the beach when the sun was rising, and I quite possibly would have been naked.
