Under a Shining Moon

A newcomer has a Third Step experience that opens her up to a new life

I have read the story of the burning bush and I thought it might be that, just a cool story that probably was made up and added to over time. I am not sure I ever thought that story had anything to do with God talking to anyone.

I was 18 years old and had been going to AA for two months. A group that I belonged to, the Aberdeen Wednesday Night Group, was very active in service and had some connections to the Moorhead Thursday Night Group. Many of the members had been talking about going to the round up that is in Moorhead every August, the Red River Valley Round Up. I couldn't think of a reason to not go, a road trip sounded good, better than staying at home and trying not to drink.
