A Call from the Bus Station

A man with 66 years of sobriety finds a letter from a sponsee he had back in the ’60s

I’m 97 years old with 66 years in AA. Back in 1968, I received a call at 1:30 a.m. from a former fellow worker who had just arrived at the bus station, broke and needing a place to stay. I had sponsored him before he left San Diego. So I arranged a room for him at a local hotel.
