New Meetings, New Friends

By finding a new group, she was able to have the kind of sobriety she wanted

Relationships in recovery have taught me almost as much about myself as working the Steps. At just over five years sober, I feel like I have experienced more bad than good as far as relationships go. Maybe that is because when I came in, I was not emotionally or spiritually healthy. How could I expect to have a healthy relationship with someone else when I was incapable of having any relationship with God or myself?

"Stick with the winners." This is commonly heard in the rooms of AA, but how do we know who the winners are when we walk in? I have found that my definition of who the winners are has changed drastically as my self-image did.
