A sponsee's relationship with his sponsor is an important anniversary
My recovery date and my AA sobriety anniversary date are two different days on the calendar. My recovery anniversary date is the day I asked a man who seemed to have what I wanted to sponsor me. That's the day I took action on the first word of the First Step. That's the day recovery began for me.
