Out of the Park

Before I ended up in jails and institutions, wishing for death, I was a kid who loved softball. Once, when I was a kid, I hit a three-run homer. Everyone cheered as I jogged around the bases. I felt euphoric after winning that game for our team. It was a feeling I had never experienced, so of course I wanted more. I worked hard every game after that to equal the high I got from that home run. The coach soon moved me up in the batting order, and I was determined to stay there.
