In a meeting in Florida, a spirited debate breaks out over singleness of purpose
At my group recently, the chairperson spoke about an earlier meeting, which had focused on another substance abuse and how that did not agree with the singleness of purpose for an open AA meeting.
Well, this generated a slew of comments, most of which were in the camp of “We should be able to talk about anything in our lives!” and “You can’t say that.” There were a few comments about the First and Third Traditions, one on “Live and Let Live.” There was even a share on Rule 62: Don’t take yourself too seriously.
