Sometimes it’s those quiet moments after everyone’s gone that are most remembered

When I first got to AA more than 25 years ago, I was in what I call “the debating society.” Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, I was uncertain I was a real alcoholic. I was confused and full of questions and constantly pointing to some argument that made my case different.
