Running Away

W hen I was five years sober, I was walking along a road in Great Neck, Long Island, when I saw a guy coming directly toward me. This guy had once cheated me out of several thousand dollars by cashing an insurance check of mine that he had mistakenly received. And there was no reason for him not to have paid me back. Instead of confronting him, though, I chose to cross the street.
