Hidden gifts

One afternoon when I was still drinking, I hiked up a mountain after an argument with my husband. I was sad because during the fight, I had thrown my wedding ring into the yard. Later we attempted to find it, but never did. I remember standing at the top of the mountain with a beer in my hand, looking all around at the beautiful views. I was all alone. I began reflecting on how awful my life had become. My one-person pity-party continued on until my beer supply ran out. Then the dreaded time came when I had to leave there and go home.
