He couldn't understand why he couldn't stop drinking

That day had started like all the other ones during those first weeks. I went to work. I worked. I came home.

I had a few hours before I had to pick up my estranged wife and our two kids from the train station. They were coming back from a spring break trip to New York. I considered going to one of those meetings, but decided to go for a run instead. So I ran. Then I went to the train station.
