A Story of the Steps

An AA tells of his experience in doing the Steps over the years

When I listen to AA's share their experience, strength and hope, I am sometimes moved. I feel touched, illuminated, empowered, educated. I have a spiritual awareness. I become a participant in their experience, strength and hope.

I had a car accident in 1954 and the hospital called my parents to tell them to immediately come to the hospital because I would probably not live through the night. I blamed the accident on the new, faulty tires I recently purchased and not on the fact that I was so drunk I had to stare at the centerline of the road because it looked like two lines. I also passed out behind the wheel.
