A local tourist attraction provides an interesting metaphor for this AA

A simile occurred to me while I sat in a meeting at my home group. The speaker, an old timer, was reminiscing on his experience getting sober. He said how the old timers back then broke him down, called him on his stuff, and then built him up to right size. I sat there and reflected on my process of recovery since I came in just over two years ago.

What occurred to me was that I was and still need to be 'built down to right size.' The vision that came to me was a local tourist attraction in the Bay area – a mystery house.
