Through the loving grace of my Higher Power and the fellowship of AA, I am grateful to be sober, above ground, and breathing another day. I grew up with three brothers in Virginia and had my first drink when I was six at my uncle's house. We would volunteer to dispose the empty bottles. There would usually be a small portion of booze remaining in the bottom of the container.
