Her best friend's wedding gave her cause for reflection

The masked guests are milling around near the food tables and, of course, the bar. It is a masquerade wedding, one of the most fashionable receptions I have ever been to.

I stand close to my table as I sip my sparkling apple cider out of the champagne glass waiting for the toast. Although the bride is one of my best and oldest friends, I know only a handful of the attendees.

Our lives have become very full and contain different circles of friends and acquaintances. She is looking so beautiful wearing the wedding clothes that I made for her.
