Medical Award to Philadelphia AA

THE PHILADELPHIA County Medical Society's 1959 Benjamin Rush Award to a lay organization benefiting the community in the field of public health was presented to Alcoholics Anonymous in the Philadelphia area. The award was inaugurated in 1948 to honor persons and organizations outside the medical profession who contribute notably to work in fields related to medicine for the benefit of their fellow men.
