The Fire this Time

New York City's ubiquitous drunk population had a new cause for shudders and shakes during 1966. In one week three men were set afire (two were hospitalized for serious burns) as they slept in doorways in lower Manhattan.

The men, alcoholic down-and-outers, were doused with gasoline by boys who then set a match to the gasoline.
