Beer Is Sex Substitute?

LONDON--An Englishman's beer is his nourishment, sex substitute and a necessity of life, according to a psychologist's report published here.

The regular beer drinker--one who consumes 20 gallons a year--regards the drink as nearer to something wholesome like soup rather than an alcoholic beverage, the report said.

The beer drinker, the report said, suffers from "beer hunger"--an emotion that the team of industrial psychologists believe is akin to the primitive tension that early man felt before the hunt.
