F-1 in Ol' Kava Kava

Down in the South Seas where lagoons are cobalt and girls are tawny they drink kava kava. Now, along comes a researcher who says all that South Pacific sleepy peace and quiet is a result of a potent ingredient in kava kava that acts on areas of the brain associated with such emotions as rage and hate.

Dr. Joseph P. Buckley of the University of Pittsburgh calls the substance F-1, and says when he tried F-1 on rats "so wild we couldn't hold them without heavy gloves," they became docile.
