Three Beers for $125

The West German Government has opened a campaign against drunken driving with a proposal for a law that would make consumption of more than two glasses of beer a $125 risk for motorists.

To curb the death toll on West German roads --last year fatalities were 17,500 --the Government proposes to lower the permissible alcohol content in the blood to eight one-hundredths of 1 percent from the present level of thirteen one-hundredths of 1 percent, which is applied flexibly.
