Japan Cancels a 'Cure'

Q.: In Tokyo, I hear, there's a special "shock treatment" used to cure drunks--and teenagers on LSD trips. What is it--and will it be used here?

A.: No. The experiment was called off. Termed "inhuman treatment." At the height of their intoxication--or mental derangement--those apprehended were placed in a unique cell, furnished like all the others (cot, washbasin, toilet, mat, etc.) with one exception--everything was nailed to the ceiling! Coming to, the occupants in this apparently topsy-turvy world were supposed to get so shook up they'd kick the habit.
