British Alcoholics 'Getting Younger'

LONDON, England--Alcoholism among Britain's teenagers is developing into a medical and social problem that surpasses narcotics addiction, a detailed medical report on alcoholism has warned the British public.

"The potential teenage drinking problem." it said, "should give far more cause for alarm than drug addiction. Worse still, the [overall] problem is developing. There was a reduction in the number of alcoholics between the wars, but since the 1940's there has been a steady increase."
