Drug Use on the Job

Industrial surveys, interviews with union officials, and talks with workers around the country indicated that drug use and selling are widespread in most segments of business and industry. . . .

There was agreement, however, that alcoholism is still the major problem faced by industry.

Lewis Presnall, director of rehabilitation services for the Kemper Insurance Group of Chicago, said that out of 100 people referred for rehabilitation, from 40 to 45 were for alcoholism, against 8 to 15 for drug problems.
