Police Problems

PITTSBURGH, PA.--Robert Colville, Pittsburgh police superintendent, has announced that his department is establishing a program to help policemen who have drinking problems.

"An officer has been assigned to full-time duty to counsel members of the department with drinking problems. He will confer with the officers and their families and advise them of the various agencies which can help them." The officer assigned to head the program, Mr. Colville said, is an alcoholic who overcame the problem 10 years ago through Alcoholics Anonymous.
