A recent chair of the General Service Board shares his thoughts about diversity

Early in general service, I was uncomfortable when trusted servants discussed diversity.  It concerned me that such topics could be disunifying to the Fellowship.  Years later, I now look forward to the discussions as vital to helping alcoholics stay sober and carry the message of AA to the still suffering alcoholic.

It has been a personal privilege to experience the love and tolerance that is typically shown to “newcomers” like me.  It seems that those who commit themselves to the program of Alcoholics Anonymous not only maintain sobriety, but acquire more acceptant characteristics and attitudes as well.
