Getting better

Before my recent hip surgery, I discussed with the doctors and nurses my alcoholism, my long-term sobriety, and my insistence on trying non-addictive analgesics first before we tried something stronger. Good news. The non-addictive ones are working and my new hip seems to be doing just fine.

Still, the hospital just doesn’t understand why a man of my “importance” deserves fancier food, a TV in my room offering more than the food channel, and not having to wait a full three minutes to get a glass of water. Remember, it’s all about me.
