Children should be allowed to drink limited amounts of alcohol in the home so that they'll learn to control it later, claims a British professor.

Dr. John Davies of Strathclyde University told delegates at a conference on alcoholism in Liverpool that parents should introduce children to the controlled use of alcohol as normal social behavior. He said teenagers tended to drink alcohol to avoid the stigma of weakness and unsociability, and heavier drinking is considered a sign of maturity among adolescents.
