Generally Allergic?

Alcoholics are significantly more allergic to both alcohol and a large number of foods than nonalcoholics are, according to a study at the St. Louis (Mo.) State Hospital. The study showed that alcoholics were more allergic to almost every one of 69 foods tested.

Dr. George A. Ulett, a member of the research team, said: "The alcoholics had an allergic reaction to over 90% of the tested food, while the nonalcoholics had a much lower reaction. This leaves little doubt that the allergic reaction is related to alcoholism."
