Life support

When it got tough, she reached out to the rooms and found love and care. It was a Mother’s Day to remember

A couple of years ago, I moved back to western Massachusetts. The move was not by choice. My mother was not doing well. I had just taken an apartment and wanted to move slowly while selling my house. So far I just had a bed, a couch, a table and some chairs.

A few days after the move, I got a call at work saying my mother was taken to the hospital. The next eight weeks were very difficult. I was at the nursing home every night. AA meetings were difficult to make, but some nights I at least made it to half a meeting.
