A word in edgewise

When we’re taking a group conscience, Tradition Two helps us remember to take the time and let God in

The “informed group conscience” is a topic that I love to talk about. I believe it is one of the most important things we strive for as a Fellowship.

Tradition One reminds us that personal recovery depends upon AA unity. The informed group conscience is one of the main building blocks of that unity. Tradition Two states that our single, ultimate authority is a loving God as he may express himself in our group conscience. So, the group conscience is how God has a voice in our decisions. In other words, if there is no group conscience, God can’t get a word in edgewise.
