How I learned to love “To Wives”

He used to roll his eyes and groan. But not anymore

For the past 12 years, I have been regularly attending a Big Book group every Friday night. Our group cycles through the book about every six months. So at least twice a year I would groan (and not always internally) when the chairperson announced Chapter Eight—“To Wives”—as the evening’s reading.
