My way out

On a sad hike through the English woods, she found the path back to gratitude

It’s often said that getting sober in AA is like a getting second chance at life. Well, I was lucky to get a second chance at my second chance.

When I first came into the rooms of AA, I was an enthusiastic beginner. I felt grateful to be alive and would go to any lengths to keep my precious sobriety. I got a home group and a sponsor, did service and dove into Step work. I finished my Fourth and Fifth Steps by my first anniversary and felt like I had arrived.
