Maybe someday this will be everywhere

Sober was just way too scary. I would have jumped at the chance to have someone go with me.

I'm a volunteer for Bridging the Gap here in Sonoma County, California. Once a month I take a presentation into our local rehab facility. I explain to the clients that Bridging the Gap is there to assist them to make the transition from their treatment facility, hospital or institution to AA in their community. We make every effort to match them with an AA volunteer of the same age and sex who will take them to their first meeting.

The presentation consists of explaining just what Bridging the Gap is. We then show the film “Hope,” which explains what AA is. Finally, I and one to two other volunteers share what AA has done for us.
