A 'Recovered' Drunk Driver

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO--The police said that the drunken driver of an overcrowded bus speeding over twisting mountain roads was to blame for the deaths of 15 persons, most of them children, when the vehicle plunged into a 150-foot ravine and split in half.

The police quoted survivors as having said that the driver had been drunk when they left Mexico City and that a passenger had relieved him at the wheel. But the driver, saying he had recovered, took the wheel only a few miles from the point where the bus left the road.
