Brewing new ideas

When a group treasurer discovered a financial predicament, the members stepped up with a plan

A while back, our group’s treasurer passed away and the status of our group’s finances was unknown. The first order of business after his death was to audit our group’s account.

The audit revealed that the Seventh Tradition basket contributions were not covering the group’s expenses. Turns out, our former treasurer had been keeping our group afloat with his own out-of-pocket contributions. Without his contributions, our group’s bank balance now began to rapidly decrease. Contributions to AA service entities were immediately stopped.
