I found my pack

It’s a place she can join in, belong and know that someone has her back. It’s her home group

Before recovery, I was a lone wolf. I had an “every man for himself” mentality, with no spiritual connection at all. In AA, I learned to “fake it till you make it.” It worked, and I stayed sober day by day.

After 21 days of inpatient rehab, I moved to an intensive outpatient program. The counselors there kept asking me if I had found a sponsor. I felt self-conscious about asking someone to sponsor me. I knew the Steps involved sharing deeply personal information. How could I trust a stranger when I had not trusted anyone for so long?
