A Piece of Cake

Tonight, I was in the backseat next to a program friend as our car crossed the Ontario border into Quebec. The couple in the front seat were the parents of a young woman who needed help. We were on our way to Montreal to do what we could, with the hope that it might be enough to help their daughter. About 24 hours previously, this young woman had made her second attempt at suicide. This time she drank bleach in an effort to end it all.
