The big event

Chairing a what? A mini-conference? Oh no, how do you do that? She was about to find out

A couple of years ago, I got an email from Carmella, who was the chairperson of the Washington Area General Service Assembly. She asked if I would serve as the chair for the mini-conference that would be held at a nearby hospital.

Without even knowing what was involved, I said yes. After I sent the email, I said to myself, Get honest, Lynette. You have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself into. You don’t even know what a mini-conference is! But I couldn’t tell Carmella that. I wanted to act like I knew what I was doing.
